2018 Green Dawn Exercise

The annual countywide Silver Dragon exercise was replaced this year by the new Green Dawn exercise.  CERT members from throughout the Peninsula showed up to work together on Search & Rescue, Triage and Treatment teams.  As with any inaugural event, things went off-plan pretty rapidly but ended up being a positive experience for all.  I found it to be an excellent opportunity to really work with our neighboring CERT colleagues.

This was also a field trail for the Collector app, a mobile GIS application that was used during the exercise.  Personally, I didn’t think the app did not work too well.  Kept getting error messages when trying to mark locations of victims.  We’ll see how it goes next year, hoping to see more folks come out.  More photos can be found in the CERT Photo Album.

Green Dawn Exercise Signups

SM-Logo.png Right now there are a total of 23 CERT Volunteers participating in the Green Dawn Exercise at Coyote Park (Belmont 4, Foster City 8, Burlingame 5, SM Highlands 4, Didn’t ID program 2).  Being a weekday and in the summer, that’s pretty good.  If you intend to participate in the exercise on June 7th, you need to sign up at the following link https://constantassociates.com/2018-green-dawn-registration/

The exercise runs from 8am-1pm and again our site (Belmont CERT) will be Coyote Point Park. Again, if you sign up, put down Belmont CERT under Agency/Organization.
